The Volkswagen group is finally making a hard move into the Indian
car market. The Managing director Jorg Mueller speaking on CNBC-TV18 was very
optimistic about moving into the small car segment in India even with stiff
competition from large rivals such as Hyundai and Nissan. He believes that the
polo will achieve 8% market share a year from launch and wants to push hard to
increase these numbers after the initial launch. I am not sure about the Polo’s
launch in India just yet maybe they should have moved in the cheaper to produce
Fox to start to attract brand interest and then update their product portfolio.
